How much horsepower do reckon can be stuffed into a family hatchback? The original Audi RS 3 which was launched in 2011 had a fiery 335bhp, to be outdone by the current car four years later, when Audi upped the ante with a whopping 362bhp.
However, at the same period of time Mercedes’ engineers were busy readying a more powerful and elegant Mercedes-AMG A45, which was launched the same year with a crazy 376bhp. However, Audi have responded with a lighter, faster and more powerful RS 3
The Audi RS3 is available in two body styles. It’s available as a conventional five-door Sportback as before, while a sleeker four-door saloon will join the line-up for the first time.
With 396bhp, it packs 20bhp more than the Mercedes, and surprisingly its a lot quicker off the line. Audi claims the RS 3 does 0-62mph in 4.1 seconds, which is two tenths faster than the outgoing RS 3, and one tenth quicker than the Mercedes AMG A45.
The Audi RS3 will be packed with ample amount of power and thrust, top speed of 174mph is surprisingly a lot for a family hatchback. Loaded with a 2.5-litre 5 cylinder turbo petrol engine. Seven-speed dual-clutch with a four-wheel drive emphasises the reason why its the fastest family hatch-back. Moreover, Audi states the economy for the vehicle is 34.0mpg, which is decent efficiency considering the 2.5-litre 5 cylinder turbo petrol.
The phenomenal Audi RS3 is expected to be launched in the summer of 2017, so keep up to date with AutoExport. For any enquires contact email@example.com.
