2017 Lamborghini Urus SUV Out Soon

The all new Lamborghini Urus will be the most costly and fastest SUV when it goes on sale by the end of the year and it’s set to produce over 600bhp from a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8. It is meant to be the fastest SUV around. Described by company boss Stefano Domenicali as “a super sports car inside an SUV”.

It’s supposed to be the most controversial model in Lamborghini’s 54-year history, and will cost roughly the same amount of money as a Huracan and come packed with supercar technology. The boss, Domenicali said he predicts the Urus will account for more than half of Lamborghini’s global sales by 2019, with the UK potentially being the car’s third biggest market, as is currently the case for the brand’s sales.

The idealogy behind Lamborghini SUV – the first since the LM002 went off sale back in 1993 – has been in the pipeline since the last few years, when Lamborghini rolled out the Urus concept at Beijing Motor Show 2012. Since then, prototypes have been seen around undergoing development testing. The Lamborghini Urus will be a new 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, producing in excess of 600bhp and 800Nm of torque. Power will be transmitted via a dual-clutch gearbox and four-wheel drive. The Urus will also have similar electronic features like the Aventador and Huracan. The Urus will offer customers with the option of a plug-in hybrid powertrain, too. This will be the Italian brand’s first project into the world of electrification. Domenicali told us he remains realistic about his new super-SUV’s longer-term potential, despite the fact that the order books are already swelling. “We need to be humble,” he said. “We need to start step by step because it’s a new world for us.”

Therefore, Lamborghini predict that the sales and demand for the Urus will be a little crazy for the first 2 years. Due to it being Lamborghini and such a powerful SUV, the demands are going to be very high. However, what happens after the honeymoon period is what matters the most.
